The Ultimate List Of Overwatch Skins
A good chunk of Overwatch’s revenue comes from in-game skins and cosmetics. So it is only natural that Blizzard works around to clock to release some of the best and most breathtaking skins you’ll see in any esport title. These skins aren’t just a good way to show off your love for a hero, but they also allow for a bit of creative expression — you get to stand out from the crowd. Most of the skins listed below completely alter the way a hero looks and they can go from funny and ingenious all the way to horrifying and frightening.
In short, there’s something for everyone.
The fact that you can get most of them without investing anything into the game (other than time) is also a big plus, given that you’re the kind of player who’s willing to grind. The skins you’ll see below are more than worthy of your attention (and hard-earned cash) and are designed and crafted with a ton of passion and attention to detail. While no such list can be fully objective, you’re bound to find something to your liking in this list of ultimate Overwatch skins for 2020!
So without any further ado, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty!
This fantastic Halloween-themed skin combines Ana’s heritage with a fairly striking Egyptian set-up. This is the perfect skin to opt for if you want to look a lot more frightening the next you pull off a sick sleep dart or a game-changing “Nano Boost.”
Snow Owl Ana
One of the best Ana skins you can get, bar none. It’s a completely unique set-up from head to toe, and the level of detail present is downright spectacular! The best part is that it’s not unique to any one event meaning you can snag it right this instant!
This isn’t just a fantastic skin because it has ties to the lore, but also because Doomfist in a formal, classy getup looks breathtaking! The white blazer shows he has style; the mechanical fist says he dabbles in the “hurt business.” Who says you can’t mix and match?
Here’s a skin you never you knew wanted until you laid eyes on it. Jötunn Doomfist is a visual delight and you don’t have to be into Norse mythology to appreciate the fine craftsmanship either.
Ashe still doesn’t have a huge list of attractive skins, but Warlock Ashe definitely ticks all the right boxes. Perhaps most importantly, it turns her sidekick B.O.B. into a molten behemoth clad in metal. What’s not to like?
What a fascinating skin, both color and thematics-wise. It’s at once both beautiful but also frightening. Locking in this skin not only tells your opponents you mean business, but it also says you’re a man of culture! (and a connoisseur of classical Japanese theatre)
Okami means “wolf” in Japanese, but depending on the way it’s spelled it can also mean “great deity.” It’s hard not to be amazed at just how visually rich this skin is, and to make matters even better, it’ll change your ultimate – Hanzo will send out spirit wolves instead of spirit dragons!
Scion Hanzo — If you want to look slick and professional while landing headshots, this is the perfect skin for you. It’s not particularly complex nor does it have any fascinating deep lore behind it, but it’s still cool if you want your Hanzo to look like a paid mercenary.
Cyberninja — By the same token, if you dig the whole “cyber” aesthetic, Cyberninja is the way to go. (plus it has cool ties to the whole Hanzo-Genji lore, which is certainly a plus)
The coolest Genji skin in the game, without a doubt. It an absolute visual spectacle and if you have the right skillset to match it, you’re bound to dominate with style. Baihu also means “White Tiger” in Chinese and is one of the “Four Symbols” found in Chinese constellations.
Yet another fantastic skin that combines one of Overwatch’s most recognizable heroes with one of the most fascinating traditional Japanese martial arts.
If you’re into Greek mythology and you also happen to be a Lúcio main, then the Gorgon skin should be right up your alley. It’s both frightening but also fascinating, and it succeeds in transforming the lovable Overwatch DJ into a somewhat terrifying undead being with snakes for hair. Talk about a good Halloween costume…
Yet another Chinese constellation. Zhuque represents the Vermilion bird, the element of fire, the summer season, and the south direction. When you mix all that up, you end up with a skin that makes Mercy look divine.
Moira is already frightening when she gets up close and personal during the heat of battle. Having her look like a somewhat hi-tech banshee in ripped clothes only makes things worse for your opponents.
Forest Spirit Orisa
Definitely one of the best and most jaw-dropping skins in the game. The level of detail is staggering and it just goes to show the amount of attention that the Blizzard skin team puts into (almost) every release.
Enchanted Armor Pharah
Pharah certainly has many great skins, but none of them are as visually amazing as this one. Fortunately, if this isn’t your cup of tea, you can always opt for Qinglong, Asp, or Mecha Queen Pharah — all worthy mentions.
Lü Bu Reaper
2019’s Lunar New Year gave us one of the best Reaper skins to date — Lü Bu Reaper! The skin is named after the legendary Chinese military general of the Eastern Han dynasty.
Yet another Halloween-themed release, this time in the spirit of the headless horseman!
Rat King Reaper
Reaper has many amazing skins — Plague Doctor, Biker, Wight, Mariachi, etc. You can truly tailor his appearance to your liking, but none of them bring the “bling” and the pizzazz like Rat King Reaper, that’s for sure.
Soldier: 24 Reaper
Fortunately, if you’re not into extravagant Reaper skins, there’s still a lot to choose from. If you want to look like the Gabriel Reyes of yesteryear, this is the perfect skin for you.
Griefhardt shows us how the armor of Reinhardt’s mentor Balderich von Adler looked like after being left undisturbed for many years. It is a poignant reminder of the battle that took place, and the price many Crusaders had to pay.
Guan Yu Reinhardt
Yet another skin celebrating a famous Chinese general who fought during the late Eastern Han dynasty. A perfect skin to accompany a hero who prefers to solve problems head-on.
If you’re a fan of Diablo, then this skin instantly becomes a must-buy. If you’re not a fan of Diablo, it’s still one of the best skins you can get for Roadhog — repulsive and disgusting from head to toe. A perfect fit for Roadhog!.
Ice Fisherman Roadhog
If you’re not into Diablo lore, then Ice Fisherman Roadhog is a much better pick. It’s a beautiful, highly detailed skin that goes hand-in-hand with Roadhog’s hook-centric ability kit.
Junkenstein’s Monster Roadhog
Finally, we have a Halloween-specific Roadhog skin that’s both funny and well-designed. It’s not exactly the most frightening skin in the world, but it’s definitely unique and it stands out without even trying.
An absolutely spectacular skin for the latest addition to Overwatch ever-growing hero pool. It’s a Legendary skin and if you’ve ever played World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King you’ll notice the resemblance with Arthas immediately.
This skin doesn’t “just” look cool as it can actually offer you a slight competitive advantage on maps that are covered in snow like Nepal! Despite this, it’s a Legendary skin so it won’t come cheap!
If the whole “winter tactical ops” aesthetic isn’t your thing, you can always go for something like the Grillmaster: 76 skin — a relaxed, “chill” representation of everyone’s visor-equipped vigilante!
The latest Sombra Winterland skin is absolutely fantastic and is definitely one of her most fleshed-out designs!
If you’re not particularly fond of Symmetra (and, to be fair, many people aren’t), you’d be forgiven if you couldn’t come up with a skin for her that screams “threatening.” It is, however, perfectly possible, as Dragon Symmetra transforms her into an awesome serpentine creature! Whether it’s enough for players to actually consider her as a credible threat is an entirely different matter though.
This one kind of feel like a no-brainer! A perfect match in every regard.
Continuing the Christmas aesthetic, we have Jingle Tracer! Now, this isn’t the most threatening skin in the world but it’s absolutely adorable and it goes hand-in-hand with Tracer’s positive attitude!
If you’re not particularly fond of Christmas (if those people even exist), you can always celebrate Halloween with Will-O’-Wisp Tracer! Definitely a stand-out skin in her (pretty sizeable) collection!
Widowmaker has numerous fantastic skins, but arguably none of them stand out as much as the Scorpion one! It’s not picked that often, but it’s absolutely menacing, especially if you focus on the details.
A mind-blowing design! It’s unfortunately only available in Anniversary loot boxes, but it’s well worth the wait! Just imagine this stone beast jumping towards you in berserk mode!
If you’ve played the Yeti Hunt mode, you’ve probably seen this one beforei. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the skin is absolutely stellar design-wise. It’s not exactly as menacing and frightening as the one above, but it’s every bit as awesome.
Jack-O’-Lantern Wrecking Ball
Continuing the trend of top-notch Halloween-themed skins, we have one that turns everyone’s favorite Wrecking Ball into a pumpkin. What’s not to like?
Not everyone wants to look like a levitating, mechanical robot. If you’re one of those people, and you have a thing for the whole Cthulhu mythos and H.P. Lovecraft, then Cultist Zenyatta is the perfect skin for you!
Zhuge Liang Zenyatta
Zhuge Liang Zenyatta carries the name of the Chinese politician, writer, inventor and military strategist. A perfect match for the omnic guru!
That’s it for our ultimate list of Overwatch skins! If you’re looking to invest a bit of money into in-game cosmetics, you’ll have a fantastic array of skins to choose from!
