EPIC League Dota 2 online tournament second season announcement

Tournament Organiser, Epic Esports Events, officially announced a six-week Dota 2 tournament featuring the top teams from Europe and the CIS region, fighting for a share of half a million dollars prize pool.

EPIC League will run November 3 – December 13, it will replace the OMEGA League Season 2.

The event will boast two divisions. First division games will take place from Nov 12 – Dec 5. Whilst the playoff stage will be held from Dec 8 – 13. The top division will feature a total of 10 teams down from 12 of OMEGA League first season.

Eight teams have already received direct invites to the tournament:

  • Team Secret
  • Alliance
  • Vikin.gg
  • OG
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Nigma
  • Natus Vincere
  • Virtus.pro

The total prize pool for the first division will be $500k USD. The total prize pool for the second division will be $50k USD.

Even after The International 10 prize pool surpassed $40M earlier this month, official Dota 2 events in 2020 have been limited as the world and the esports industry deals with an ongoing global pandemic.
